CANCER and BREAST CANCER AWARENESS

My mother, in December 2006 at the age of 92, had to have a total left mastectomy, having been diagnosed with breast cancer only 3 months before. It came on very suddenly for her, and at her age the odds were not that good, but she made it through. However, the cancer has since metastasized and now is going through her entire body. She is under hospice care, living with my brother, and is at peace. She wants no further treatment or surgeries. To quote her: "I've lived long enough!" We will keep her as comfortable as possible until she leaves us.

As a result of this, I am much more focused towards my own breast cancer, and cancer, awareness, and I encourage all of you to visit the Susan G. Komen breast cancer site for any information you need, and to be SURE to perform self-checks and have your annual mammograms and breast examinations without fail. Click here if you wish to donate to breast cancer research!

Also, please visit the American Cancer Society website, and follow their advice regarding the signs, symptoms, and subsequent care of cancer, and contribute if you can.

HATS OFF TO ALL BREAST CANCER AND CANCER SURVIVORS... AND TO MY MOM!!!

Hi Jacque,
Briget Rischawy here from the TRSi chapter of AHDI. I just found your blog. I really enjoyed it, but I have one question. Why didn't my Giants beating Philly this weekend make it to your NFL score board?!?

Good to see I have a football partner!
